Summer is sadly coming to an end, so we wanted to take one more chance to celebrate the season with this week’s Moodboard Monday. One of our recent projects took inspiration from summer coming-of-age comedies, and all of the classic tropes that are so endearing (and relatable). The long hot days by the pool, the long hot nights out with friends, the weird odd jobs you’d take to make a little spending money… all great memories, burned into our collective consciousness. Luckily, there are some fantastic movies that capture those feelings, and let us relive those summer memories!
A few classics immediately popped out when looking for inspiration on this project. Adventureland and Caddyshack covered the summer job basics, Sandlot has friends and young love, and the title of Wet Hot American Summer just says it all. But beyond the plot tropes, there was a lot in common stylistically with the movies we chose. Bright colors, great outfits, and iconic imagery came to mind as we compiled the list -- headlined, of course, by Wendy Peffercorn.
Enjoy your last few weeks of soaking up the sun -- and even after the leaves change, maybe this moodboard can bring back some of the summer love!
